On 16 December 2021, CD KYRM Kanokpan Lao-Araya handed over three mobile passport readers to the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, represented by Director/ Major General Maj. Gen. Ularbek Sharsheev of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic. The mobile passport readers can help expedite clearance of passengers while they remain seated in the bus/train. The on-board clearance is a modern approach to border checks, which will reduce the border crossing process by half of the time spent before. The efficient and secured people and vehicle movements contribute to cultural, socioeconomic and tourism prosperity between Almaty and Bishkek and its surrounding areas. The equipment was grant financed under the Almaty-Bishkek Economic Corridor.
